We warmly welcome our future first graders! In September, our Grade 1A class will be led by Ms Barbi, and our Grade 1B class will begin their school journey with Ms Lilla.
If you are still in the process of choosing a school, we have gathered all the essential information on this page that you should know before applying.
Of course, before making such an important decision, you need to know why it is worth entrusting us with the development of your children…
Beyond ensuring that children feel happy and comfortable throughout the day, we also place strong emphasis on their continuous academic, social, and emotional development. Our teachers regularly take part in professional training, and their work is supported by a speech and language therapist, a Hungarian as a Foreign Language teacher, and, in Year 1, by the class’s dedicated teaching assistant who supports the children throughout the entire school day.
English lessons are delivered by native-speaking teachers, complemented by dedicated phonics sessions and the internationally recognised Read Write Inc. (Oxford) literacy programme. In parallel, Hungarian literacy is taught using the Meixner method, in line with the requirements of the national curriculum.
This dual approach enables children to develop the skills and confidence needed to adapt easily to any educational environment. Our school follows the National Core Curriculum (NAT), ensuring that pupils do not fall behind the Hungarian curriculum requirements. This also means they can transition back into the state education system at any time, or continue their secondary studies at some of the country’s leading schools.
We are a small, close-knit and family-like community, where children look forward to coming in every morning. Here, they are encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and stay motivated throughout the day while learning confidently in two languages.
We create a harmonious everyday environment with friendly colours, modern ergonomic furniture, and the latest digital technology.

We are meeting the children twice, at the time of your choice, to test if they are ready to start school. We will inform parents of our decision within 2-3 working days following the trial days.
If we can provide a place for your child. We will send the educational contract to parents for review. After we have received the signed contract and the registration fee, we will confirm your child’s place at Brit-Magyar.
