Daniel Russell

I was born and raised in San Diego, California and studied History and German at San Diego State University. My teaching journey began in 2013 as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Austria. This was a moving experience that confirmed my passion for international education. I later completed my Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of Alcalá in Spain, where I also taught English at a bilingual secondary school in Madrid. A key area of my professional focus is literacy instruction. I am a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist, and I am deeply committed to helping all students, particularly those with special learning needs, build strong, confident reading and writing skills.

For the past seven years, Hungary has been my home. During this time, I taught at the English School of Budapest and most recently served as its Director of Education. Through this work, I have had the pleasure of getting to know many BM students, and I’m excited now to focus on supporting our teachers and students in this new role.
Bilingualism is especially close to my heart. My wife and I are raising our young son in both English and Hungarian, and I have seen firsthand how learning multiple languages enriches the learning experience and opens doors both personally and professionally.
