When, how, and why did you choose the teaching profession?

Soon after graduating from college, I moved to Spain, where I began my teaching career. This profession attracts me in many ways. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is meeting students during the first week and then seeing how much their knowledge and confidence grow throughout the school year.

Why did you choose Brit–Magyar School?

I chose Brit-Magyar because of the warm community it fosters and the wide range of opportunities it offers both teachers and students. I value the unique experience of learning from both the Hungarian and Cambridge curricula.

What does an ideal lesson look like for you?

An ideal lesson has a clear learning objective and begins with a short warm-up activity that reviews the previous day’s material. It includes engaging instruction with a variety of questioning techniques related to the learning goal, followed by a meaningful task. At the end of the lesson, students should have the opportunity to reflect and share what they have learned.

What is the most important thing you’d like to pass on to your students?

A passion for lifelong learning and a curiosity to keep experiencing new things throughout life.

How do you motivate students to learn?

I motivate students by first fostering positive teacher–student relationships built on mutual respect. I also design engaging, relevant lessons that capture their interests and encourage them to take ownership of their learning.

What do you love most about teaching?

Teaching gives me the chance to build meaningful relationships with students and to help them develop real-life skills they can use beyond the classroom. I also love the moment when a student’s understanding suddenly “clicks” — when the light bulb goes on!
