How did you get into education, and why did you choose this role?
Since I was old enough, I have loved working with children and young people. Every summer, you can normally find me on a summer camp, playing football or guitar, or teaching English! So it was an easy decision to work in education.
What made you decide to join the Brit-Magyar School?
Many reasons brought me to Brit-Magyar! To name a few, the community appeared very welcoming, caring, and interested in me as soon as I stepped through the door. Secondly, my wife is Hungarian and so the bilingual world feels familiar to me. And as an added bonus, because I live nearby, every morning I can sit on my bike, and roll down the hill to get to school!
How do you support teachers and students in your daily work?
As a teaching assistant, my job is to help in anyway I can. I will always be around to help the children with their questions or in their studies. Behind the scenes, I will support the teachers by setting up the classrooms and making sure everything is in order. Every day will bring a new challenge!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The best thing about working in education is always the children themselves. I enjoy chatting with the children and getting to know what they like and what they aspire to be.
Is there a school moment or experience that has been especially meaningful for you?
I think it’s amazing to be proud of your achievements, especially the creative ones when you put yourself out there. When I was at school, I remember playing guitar in a big band performance of ‘The Chain’ by Fleetwood Mac, and it was awesome!
