Szilvia Toldi

My teaching practice is mostly characterized by experiential pedagogy and the application of playful
activities. My main subject, Hungarian language and literature, provides numerous opportunities for
this, and I am convinced that by applying these playful activities I can create a harmonious learning
environment where children can focus on learning without anxiety.

As a deputy head of Brit-Magyar, my main tasks will include creating a great school community, as
well as applying alternative teaching methods in the classroom and strengthening child-centered
thinking across the whole school.

Since 2015, I have worked as a Deputy Director at Pipacsvirag Bilingual Elementary School in Telki
and assisted in the day to day work of leading the school. Prior to that, I also worked in church and
state subsidized high schools and elementary schools. Since 2010, I have been continuously
preparing students for their high school written and oral admissions. I enjoy organizing
extracurricular programmes, I am happy to take children on excursions and leisure activities outside
the school. I also consider sports and arts very important in children’s everyday lives. Besides my
Hungarian language and literature diploma, I am a qualified English language and literature and ethics teacher as well.
