At the beginning of October, we set out for a trip to DomaFarm with the students of our school. In this new school year, this was our first common excursion. The children were very excited about it, as we could get out to nature, and the weather was really nice. On this warm, sunny autumn day we picked apples together with the kids. This activity included school-work as well, as our pupils are just learning about the field, crop production, harvesting and domestic animals.
This way our students could gain experience with those things they are learning about at school. For example they could meet donkeys in the petting zoo, which was a great experience for the kids. The workers of DomaFarm were talking enthusiastically about the different field animals to the kids, they explained the differences between hay and straw, and they answered all the questions of our curious students both in English and in Hungarian.
For the kids this common activity was an unforgettable experience, as they really enjoyed working together, then petting the donkeys, and riding on the small tractor was a great joy for them. After the nice day we returned to the school, where we assured all the kids that we will continue to do similar things together in the future. We are planning to go to common excursions, visit museums each and every month during the school year. Until our next occasion, we collected a few of our photos taken on this enjoyable day.
